I wanted a strong contrast between the top and bottom of the model, after sketching the design out on paper I then scanned the image in and scaled it to the model size. Then I redrew the design in Illustrator ready to cut the masks.

The checkers are 4102 Aluminum Base (medium), 4314 Pearlized Black, then the orange blend was added with 4580 Mango built up in light layers.

The main fuselage colour is 4356 Iridescent Electric Blue. The masked areas are to form the road runner panels. I found a couple of great cartoons online to use as a base for the theme. I never get tired with the ease of spraying with acrylics coverage is smooth and effortless.

The finshed toons were outlined by hand with a paint brush. Then the jet was cleared with an automotive two-pack clear.
